Growing up, field day was one of my favorite days. Unless I lost in the competitions.😜 A couple of years ago, I was wishing that the kids could have a field day, so we decided to put one on ourselves at the end of the school year. We also did not know very many homeschooling families in the area, so I thought it might be a good way to get to meet some more.
One of our children inherited my competitive nature, so for the sake of everyone coming home happy all the games are just for fun and there are no winners (or, most importantly, losers). We have several stations with games in the morning, and then after lunch play a couple of water games. I make t-shirts for it each year as well because I am a firm believer that t-shirts make things better. 😆
We had a great turnout the first year and the kids had a blast, so it is something we have continued doing. We have met several new people because of it, and it has become one of the highlights of our year. None of the games we do are complicated or expensive to set up, so I highly recommend it if you are looking for a fun activity for a group of friends!
